Case Study: AI Search - Growing to 600K Visitors in 3 Months
AI Search is a comprehensive platform for users to discover and share AI tools for all their needs. With the AI space moving so quickly, we needed to act quickly in order to gain more exposure.
Our initial analysis revealed that the website lacked high-volume, low-difficulty content and was not optimized for search engines. As a result, the website was not ranking highly on Google, and potential users were not finding the website when searching for AI tools. As a new site, they also lacked backlinks, which would further increase SEO.
We identified several opportunities to improve the website's visibility and attract more visitors. Our approach involved a combination of keyword research, content marketing, and backlink generation.
First, we submitted AI Search to over 150 SaaS or startup directories around the world, including Product Hunt and Betalist. From this alone, we've already generated 150+ backlinks for the site, not including any additional backlinks that were shared from others who visited these directories.
Next, we conducted thorough keyword research to identify the most relevant and high-volume keywords related to the site. We used a variety of tools, including Google's Keyword Planner and SEMrush, to identify high-volume, low-difficulty keywords that we could target.
Our research identified several 'low hanging fruit' topics, including 'AI tools for teaching' and 'AI tools for language learning'. We proceeded to write a ton of blogs optimized for the keywords we had identified in our keyword research. Within 2 weeks of writing the first blog, AI Search was already appearing on the top page of Google of some of these search terms.
Within 3 months, AI Search had attracted over 600K visitors organically and over 1.6M pageviews. And this flow is not showing any signs of slowing down. We aim to scale this to over 1,000,000 visitors per month very soon!
